Spring 2008 Sessions were great! We had two awesome groups of riders participating. Skills and endurance improved rapidly! The groups demonstrated really impressive understanding of trail etiquette and respect for the environment. Keep up the good riding!
All sessions offered since 2002 have been met with incredibly positive response from participants, parents, and the community. We have many parent and other volunteers who ride with the groups. We have also been fortunate to have some amazing youth mentors over the years including Mike Wardlaw, Macky Franklin, and Jenny Gilman. All ability levels are represented and everyone's skills and/or endurance improves in each session. Key topics included bike maintenance, safety issues, and trail use ethics. Riding often begins with skills drills, slow races, and obstacle courses. We then move to several trails from sagebrush , rocky rides to high altitude mountain single track. Awards Sessions mark the conclusion of each session. Several riders participate in their first mountain bike race during or after completing a session!
Since we started these programs, we have helped develop riders who have become some of our favotire people to ride with!
